While thousands of thrill seekers are enjoying the annual May fun fair, politicians working at Groningen city hall are counting down the hours until it’s over on Whit Monday.
RTV Noord reports that the aldermen whose offices are located inside city hall are struggling to concentrate as sirens, buzzers, screams and noisy rides create a cacophony of noise all day long.
BNR Nieuwsradio DJs cracked up when reporting on the awkward and noisy situation plaguing the politicians. The radio segment noted that aldermen Joost van Keulen, Paul de Rook and Ton Schroor had stated that it wasn’t “all that bad” and that they could flee to another area in the building if they were truly fed up with all the ruckus.
