Tickets for Frisian Festival ‘Oerrock’ have flown out of the door, with all 8,250 tickets for one of the largest festival in the Northern Netherlands bought in record time.
The festival, now in its 20thyear, is being held over the Ascension Weekend.
This year, headline acts include the Dutch rock band Golden Earring, most famous for their 1973 hit ‘Radar Love’, and pop crooner Guus Meeuwis. Also on the billing are Miss Montreal, Kraantje Pappie, and VanVelzen.
A final batch of tickets will be released on 23rd March and entry to the festival is free on Friday 31st May, though all the acts on that day will be tribute bands and local names. The festival is located in the pretty Frisian village of Ureterp, where the population will more than treble on the weekend of the festival.
