According to Omrop Fryslan, the judges chose Grutte Pier’s tripel as the best in the Netherlands. The Leeuwarden-based brewery’s tripel also won the title in 2017 and 2016.
In this year’s edition, the brewery also took home prizes for the best bock and best dubbel in the country, and the Grutte Pier Blond was awarded with a gold medal.
National winners were announced during the World Beer Awards ceremony last week, and the international award winners will be made known at a separate ceremony later this year.
