The bed and breakfast, which is owned and operated by Jim de Boer and Lucia Weerstand, received a top score from the Dutch Bed & Breakfast Foundation on Tuesday. The foundation evaluates B&Bs on a scale of one to five “tulips” and assesses various categories within the Dutch B&B industry.
? (https://t.co/lDzpfh2AqO) pic.twitter.com/mbIDBTvDHv

Op de Knolle is a luxury bed and breakfast with two large suites in a converted coach house and is located near the Frisian-Drents border. An overnight stay at the B&B starts at 110 euros per night. The Leeuwarder Courant reports that the other two finalists for the title of best Dutch B&B 2019 were Veerkant and Vruistuk in Tendeveen in Drenthe and De Tinnen Kamer in Vught in North Brabant.
The nominations for the best accommodations of the year are determined based on the standards of the foundation and a scoring system. Guest reviews are also taken into consideration: Omrop Fryslan reports that Op de Knolle had gained more than 300 guest reviews ranking their experience at the accommodations with a 9.9.
