A 16-year-old boy was found guilty and sentenced by the juvenile court on Tuesday for spiking a teacher’s soup with hemp, reports the Leeuwarder Courant.
The incident happened last October in Drachten, in a special secondary education institute. The soup caused “a violent unpleasant sensation” in the teacher.
The judge sentenced the teen to take part in a behavioral training course designed to teach him how to deal with anger and other feelings. The course is specifically for young people with learning difficulties.
The teen has also been handed a suspended sentence of twenty hours of community service and other special conditions, including juvenile probation. Such sentences would kick in in case of re-offending.
The punishment corresponds to the suggestion of the Public Prosecutor, who stated the act showed intent and abuse.
