The world-renowned Mexican artists’ works will be displayed at the Drents Museum.

It was previously thought that the exhibition would be coming to Drenthe in 2021, but now the Drents Museum in Assen has confirmed that the works will be available to view in 2020, as reported by RTV Drenthe.
Harry Tupan, Director of the Drents Museum said: ‘The reason that the exhibition can come to our museum earlier is because an agreement to show it in Paris has fallen through. It was a chance that we instantly grabbed!’
Tupan noted that a unique collection of Kahlo’s works will be coming to Assen, including paintings from the Museum Dolores Olmedo and The Blue House museum, both of which are in Mexico City. These two museums have never before collaborated on an exhibition together, making the selection of works available at the Drents Museum quite unique.
The exhibition of the work of Frida Kahlo will be available to view at the Drents Museum from 11 October 2020, to 28 March 2021.
