Temple Groningen is already an established brand in the local party scene. It’s an artistic and musical collective that started from casual house parties one year ago, and is about to throw another big event at the Huize Maas on Friday 7 February .
Exuberant winter season
The last couple of months were busy as Temple parties became hosted monthly. With the goal of finding local talents, Temple started a podcast series on Soundcloud. So far, five promising DJs that are currently staying in Groningen have been introduced. The team has expanded with new members. Temple is focusing on art more than ever thanks to a group of Minerva students led by Chiara Tammara. With their help, the events of Temple have become truly unique.
This Friday
The concept of the night is devoted to the early sounds of techno. The headliner of the party is an Amsterdam-based DJ, Van Anh, who is known for her diverse techno sets that can hypnotize crowds of dancers. Van Anh is involved in a movement known as Isotoop, in which she organises parties and live streams in the Netherlands. Recently, she even threw a festival in the Moroccan desert! She will be supported by a team of Temple resident DJs who are familiar to the local audience. The event will also offer a stunning visual experience as the Berlin artist group, Valian Kollektiv, is arriving to build a special light installation. The location itself is closely connected to former rave parties in Groningen. The Temple team is taking on the challenge to bring the rave spirit back.
Future plans
Again, big things are planned for the spring season. Temple is hosting a music stage at Kopjek’s Carnaval party in March. A secret underground rave is likely to come after that. There will also be a big surprise for King’s Night in April.
