On Tuesday, 29 May, the IKEA store in Groningen will provide a free meal for people living in the city’s shelters.
The initiative, called Aandacht maakt alles mooier (Care makes everything better), is coordinated by Straatwijs, a Groningen foundation focused on homelessness.
Joram Krol, a local photographer and ambassador on behalf of Straatwijs, told OOGTV that the free meal is a meaningful gesture. “It matters so much to the guys, they really feel accepted. They can choose whatever they want to eat, it’s really great. It’s wonderful that IKEA is working with Straatwijs, we think that it really has an impact. These guys living on the streets are my friends, and this is just great for them”.
The free meal will be served at IKEA on Tuesday, 29 May between 2 and 4 p.m.
