Aniek Reinders, a 17-year-old from Hoogeveen, scored the highest possible marks on all four of her final exams at Gormarus College in Groningen.

Reinders achieved cum laude marks on four different academic profile exams: culture and society, economics and society, nature and technology, and nature and health.
Reinders originally scored an 8.3 on her maths exam, but she was disappointed with what she felt was a low score in what she considers her best subject. She decided to retake the exam and scored a 9.4.
The Hoogeveen student sat exams for 11 different academic subjects altogether. Reinders is the only student at her secondary school to score cum laude on all of her exams, but she told Dagblad van het Noorden that that was not necessarily her goal. The ambitious student says that she wanted to challenge herself by following as many subjects as possible. She already has a C2 level Cambridge English certificate (the highest level possible) and has also studied some Chinese.
She is planning to start taking medical courses at Radboud University in Nijmegen this autumn.
