Maradona died last week and is considered one of the best footballers to have ever played
The film “Diego Maradona”, by Oscar winner Asif Kapadia, will be screened at the Forum Groningen as a tribute to the late footballer, reports OOGTV. The film covers Maradona’s life from growing up in poverty to, in the summer of 1984 (before winning the World Cup in 1986), the then 23-year-old Maradona arrived at SSC Napoli in Italy for a record amount, inspiring the Italian club to its first two titles.
The film is made using more than 500 hours of archive material and sketches a unique portrait, and was released in 2018 documentary. Diego Maradona will be screened on Saturday from 15:30. More information is available here.
