In order to get a panoramic view of the city you’ll need to book at NOK, which charges 17,50 euros for a burger
Luckily for those finding it a struggle working from home, or just looking for a place to read with a view, the Forum Groningen will re-open its doors on June 1. Various regulations have been put in place to assist social distancing in the building: one of these is that the Forum roof terrace is only being made available to those dining at NOK, the restaurant on the top floor. As reported by the GIC.
Limited toilets open
It also states that guests should take escalators in the building as much as possible, keeping the lifts free for people that cannot use escalators. Furthermore, only a limited part of the toilets will be open, such as the disabled toilet, the toilets at the cinema, or the changing room at the Wonderland children’s area.
Computers to work on are not available for the time being – everyone is requested to bring their own laptop. And anyone who visits a cinema may sit next to one other person, in a designated place.
Don’t touch the books!
Visitors to the library are asked to only touch the books and magazines they actually want to borrow. According to the Forum, submitted books are quarantined for 36 hours before they are put back on the shelves.
Anyone that wants to catch a movie can only sit next to one other person: and they must be someone from their own household. Anyone that would like the traditional cinema snack of a litre of fizzy drink is asked to select a seat close to an aisle: that way, you don’t have to pass anyone when you go to the toilet, says the Forum.
Tickets for the expo or Storyworld must be purchased in advance. To avoid crowds, visitors are given a start time, but they can stay as long as they want.
NOK is taking bookings again, though with lots of people suffering from a squeeze on their wallets during the Coronavirus outbreak, its selection of Black Miso Cod (made famous by chef Nobu Matsuhisa) for 26,50 euros or 48 euro côte de boeuf to share may not be creating queues just yet.
