The library and cultural centre’s cinemas were particularly popular
Residents of Groningen and the surrounding area are happy that they can go to the Forum Groningen again. On Saturday, the first day after the lock-down, the Forum immediately attracted 5000 visitors over the entire day. Director Dirk Nijdam said that the re-opening went “really well”, reports OOGTV.
“I think it’s amazing how many people can find you right away. That they have not forgotten you and that they will come back right away. Yesterday we had about 5,000 visitors. At the busiest time, we had 500 people inside at the same time. That seems like a lot, but we have a very large building. And of course we stick to the corona measures in force. People can walk in freely, if they want to go to the catering industry, film or museum, reservations must be made. This can possibly be done on the spot.”
According to Nijdam, there is a lot of interest in animation and games at the Storyworld museum. “But the exhibition about Aardman’s clay figures is also popular and our cinemas are almost sold out. We can accommodate a maximum of fifty people in our cinemas. So we are also quickly full. In addition, we show a number of popular titles on the silver screen. We see that ‘The Battle of the Scheldt’ and ‘Nomadland’ are simply very popular.”
