According to their report issued following their visit, they were pleased with what they saw. RTV Drenthe reports that Formula 1 is eager to expand further into the Netherlands. According to Jos Vaessen, who is leading a campaign to bring the Formula 1 Grand Prix to Drenthe in 2020, the TT representatives were completely unaware that the delegation was visiting.
Vaessen says that the popularity of Formula 1 is increasing in the Netherlands, thanks in part to Max Verstappen, a Belgian-Dutch racing driver who is currently ranked 6th in the world.
Another delegation visit is scheduled to take place in late August, during which the representatives will evaluate medical and press facilities. Vaessen says that a definitive decision should be made by the end of 2018.
