Emerald Airlines will be operating flights between Groningen Airport Eelde and the Irish airport of Knock, in the west of Ireland, starting in the summer of 2025.
The flights will be carried out by tour operator BBI Travel, who says they see a rise in people wanting to fly from regional airports. The airline that will be operating the flights, Emerald Airlines, is part of the Irish airline Aer Lingus Regional for which they operate during the week.
Groningen Airport Eelde is also happy with the new destination on the Irish west coast. Jonas van Dorp, Manager of Commerce and Business Development told Luchtvaartnieuws that Knock Airport is a very fitting new destination for Groningen Airport Eelde.
“After the Scandinavian Mountains, this is the second destination of BBI Travel and we are of course very pleased with that. These types of special destinations, which also include Guernsey (Channel Islands), are very popular with our audience, our travellers,” he said.”
The flights to Knock will be operating every Saturday from the 7th of June until the 30th of August. Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to book single tickets, as BBI Travel only offers travel packages.
