Due to popular demand, tour operators Neckermann and Thomas Cook will also be offering trips to Ibiza from Groningen Airport Eelde during the peak of the tourist season.
Flights organised by Neckermann Reizen and Thomas Cook in the spring are already virtually fully booked, which is why the companies have decided to offer trips during the summer as well. According to the Groningen Internet Courant, between 21 April and 9 June, flights will depart every Saturday, and starting on 16 July, direct flights will depart from Eelde on Mondays.
High demand for direct flights to Ibiza
“The airport’s own research indicated that passengers were interested in direct flights to Ibiza”, says Carola Hoekstra, managing director for Thomas Cook Nederland. “The number of bookings have also demonstrated the demand for vacation flights to this popular Balearic island.”
The Neckermann and Thomas Cook flights will be carried out exclusively by Estonian-based airline Nordica. Vacation trips from Groningen to Ibiza can be booked online at neckermann.nl and through the travel agency with the Thomas Cook brand.
The first flight from Groningen to Ibiza will depart this coming Saturday, 21 April – the passengers on board will receive a festive, warm welcome at the Spanish airport.
