Fishermen using magnetic equipment in the province of Drenthe have made a remarkable catch: an explosive device.

The explosive was found in a pond near a former sanatorium building in Zuidlaren. RTV Drenthe reports that deputy mayor René Kraaijenbrink has made an emergency decree for the area, and the pond is cordoned off with police tape and warning signs.
The explosive was discovered on Tuesday and immediately thrown back into the water by the fishermen. After they notified the police, officers contacted the Explosives Clearance Service Defense team to ome to Zuidlaren to defuse the projectile. Police officers are currently on the scene to prevent people from entering the area.
