One of the performances which is going on sale is “Space” by the Canadian company Socalled & friends, an “absurd puppet theater piece” which will be the opening performance of the Noorderzon Performing Arts Festival, which will take place this year from 15 to 25 August.
From 15 May, Noorderzon fans can also buy tickets for the Australian circus company Gravity and Other Myths; “Wad Live”, a live screening of Ruben Smit’s nature documentary Wad about the Wadden Sea with accompaniment by the Noordpool Orkest (orchestra); and the European premiere of “Drágon”, a play by Guillermo Calderon, one of Chile’s leading directors. The rest of Noorderzon’s program will be announced shortly.
Noorderzon is a combination of an international performing arts festival and a large summer party with around 150,000 visitors. The beating heart of the festival is the idyllic Noorderplantsoen, which will be transformed into freely accessible festival village, where theater, dance, music, literature and visual arts go hand in hand with food, drinks and encounters.
