The Leeuwarder Courant reports that it was actually Google AdWords that declined to advertise “Redbad”, not Facebook or Youtube.

Earlier this week, the film’s producer Klaas de Jong claimed that he had been notified by Facebook that the social media company would not show the trailer to all of its users. However, it turns out that Google AdWords was the only company that expressed any reservations about the trailer.
De Jong shared the original email from GoogleAdWords with the Leeuwarder Courant. The Frisian paper reports that the company declined to show the trailer as an ad before other YouTube films because it contained “shocking or deterrent” content.
The trailer itself was never withheld or taken down from Youtube, nor was it hidden on Facebook. Dutch European MP Marietje Schaakte of D66 has questioned Google AdWords’ decision in the European Commission.
