On Tuesday, the biggest acts on the bill of the newest Groningen festival, Hullabaloo, were made public: English singer Craig David, 2019 Eurovision winner Duncan Laurence and the popular Belgian artist Oscar and the Wolf will be headlining the late August music event.
Over the past few weeks, 4PM Entertainment, has been gradually rolling out the line-up for the Hullabaloo festival, the first edition of which will be held in Groningen on the 30th and 31st of August in the Stadspark. On Friday and Saturday, more than 50 (primarily European and mostly Dutch) acts will be performing at four different stages: Mayhem (main stage), Hurly-Burly (pop), Brouhaha (crossover) and Fuss ( electronica).
If you were in the city of Groningen on Tuesday, you may have noticed a plane flying around the centre with a banner reading “Welcome Oscar and Craig” –a promotional stunt to announce two of the festival’s headliners. Sikkom reports that the three biggest acts that will be taking the stage are Craig David, Duncan Laurence and Oscar and the Wolf.
Fresh off his win in the 2019 Eurovision Song Festival, Dutch singer Duncan Laurence will be gracing the Mayhem main stage. His song, “Arcade” – the first winning Dutch Eurovision entry since 1975 – will undoubtedly strike a chord with the crowd.
Craig David first broke on the music scene in the early 2000s, making a splash with his first single, “Fill Me In”, which hit number one in the United Kingdom. His most recent album, “The Time is Now”, was released in 2018.
Oscar and the Wolf, a solo artist from Belgian known for his dream pop sounds, has had two Belgian number one albums – Entity and Infinity. His most recent big hit was “Breathing” in 2017.
4PM is organising a range of other large scale events in the Stadspark in the coming months, including the rescheduled Groningse Terrassen Festival and the new Stadspark Live festival in June.
