Conchita Wurst, the Austrian singer who won the Eurovision Song Festival in 2014, will be the headliner at the Love For All Festival at De Harmonie in Leeuwarden on the 3rd of November.

Conchita Wurst is the stage name of Austrian singer and drag queen Thomas Neuwirth. Wurst’s sultry, defiant performance of “Rise Like a Phoenix” was worthy of a Bond film theme and won the 2014 edition of the Eurovision Song Festival. The song was equally memorable for many viewers for Wurst’s powerful vocals and appearance as a beautiful woman with a beard.
The Leeuwarder Courant reports that the Love For All Festival is part of a wider programme at De Harmonie focused on love, gender and sexuality. The festival will be held from the 27th of October through the 3rd of November. Other acts that will be part of the festival include the Noord Nederlands Toneel’s production of “Dorian”, inspired by Oscar Wilde’s novel “The Picture of Dorian Grey”, protest songs by the Northern Netherlands Orchestra, and cabaret show by Kate O’Donnell.
