For the fourth year in a row, the Groninger Forum on the Hereplein is hosting a Eurovision Song Contest viewing party for the Grand Final on Friday night.
It has become a tradition for fans of all ages of the epic, cheesy and occasionally heart-warming pan-European musical event to watch the finals on Saturday at the Groninger Forum.
The Groninger Internet Courant reports that this coming Saturday, the fourth edition of the party – “Douze Points Live” will be held at the cultural centre and arthouse cinema at the Hereplein. The name of the event refers to the maximum score of 12 points that each country can give out to its favorite musical act of the night.
Festivities will get underway before the show starts, including live performances with covers of beloved previous Eurovision entries. Maggie MacNeal and Getty Kaspers, two members of the last Dutch act to win Eurovision, Teach-In, will also be in attendance. Dutch drag queen Dolly Bellefluer will host the viewing party.
