A bull that escaped from Appelscha was shot in the Oude Bos in Drenthe overnight.
Traffic on the N381 had to travel more slowly out of fears that the bull might try to cross the highway.
According to RTV Drenthe, a search party looked for the bull for hours on Monday evening, including a police helicopter from Schiphol which was dispatched to help.
With thermal imaging, the bull was finally found. The search light from the helicopter helped to more precisely locate the bull, who was eventually shot.
