The Growing Global series of events aims to bring together Internationals and Companies in Drenthe
Good food, drinks and good company: all the ingredients of a successful meeting of Growing Global, the most recent event of which took place last night in Emmen.
Several dozen people, both International and Dutch, came to the event, which is organised regularly by Growing Emmen.
During the meeting, the cultural website Here & Now Drenthe was launched, and a series of inspiring lectures by entrepreneurs from Drenthe with internationally oriented companies were given.
According to councilor Guido Rink van Emmen, who opened the evening, events such as Growing Global are very important for Emmen and the surrounding area: “it is important because Internationals can meet each other and make new contacts. Internationals are increasingly important to our municipality, because we have many internationally oriented-companies”, he said.
During the evening there was a lecture by the Drenthe entrepreneur Marcel Raedts of Proxcys, another by Vincent Kleine of Vince Design, and finally by Professor Diederich Bakker of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences about start-ups in the border area of the Northern Netherlands and Germany, the Ems-Dollard Region.
