A survey has revealed that the social consequences of the viral outbreak are much more immediately problematic
For a large majority of Groningen residents, the Coronavirus outbreak has had little negative effect on their work and income in the last month. However, according to many (59%), their social life was virtually stopped in April. People in Groningen expect more poverty and unemployment in the long term, too, reveals the opinion poll by the Social Planning Agency Groningen. As reported by the GIC.
A panel survey among nearly four thousand people from Groningen shows that people that have really gotten into trouble due to the outbreak in April 2020 was relatively small, but the majority of participants expect the changes that are now taking place to continue for a long time. Despite the low number of infections in the region, 9% of workers lost all or part of their jobs or assignments in April.
