As of Tuesday, the provinces of Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe will have their own economic board.
Economic Board Noord-Nederland, a joint effort by the three northern provinces, aims to develop and execute economic projects focused on three industries: logistics, healthy foods and the energy transition.
The provinces, local employers and academic institutions are coming together in a unique collaboration, which is coordinated by employers’ organisations VNO/NCW and MKB Nederland. The provinces will provide financing for the board and a secretary will be appointed to support the participating projects.
The board will be officially presented at Nieuwspoort in The Hague on Tuesday.
