Spring is right around the corner, even if the chilly temperatures make that hard to believe. But the days are getting longer, and in barns across the province, new born lambs are starting to frolic.
Anyone who wants to spend some time with the lambs can visit De Onlanderij farm in Eelderwolde from 30 March through 2 April. The Dutch natural monuments organisation is behind the lambing festivities during Easter weekend.
In the Netherlands, Easter festivities are celebrated on First and Second Easter Day, and at the farm, Easter weekend will include activities like an Easter egg hunt, nest building and bird watching. Forest rangers will also be on hand to answer visitors’ nature questions. Visitors will also be able to interact with cows, pigs and baby chicks.
De Onlanderij is located at Madijk 1 in Eelderwolde. Visitors travelling by car can enter Borchsingel 39 in Eelderwolde into the GPS. Parking is available at the Borchkwartier and at the Hoornseplas. Disabled visitors can park at the farm.
