Vaccinations against the Corona virus in the Netherlands are picking up speed. The Netherlands is now one of the top four countries in the European Union in terms of the rate of vaccination. During the television program Op1 last night, the Dutch minister De Jonge said that he expects all Dutch people could have had at least one injection by July.
In the television program, De Jonge was asked how the vaccination campaign in the Netherlands is going. He said he expected that 80 to 85 percent of the 14 million adults in the Netherlands would like to be vaccinated. According to Mr. De Jonge, two-thirds of them could be fully protected with two doses of the vaccine by the beginning of July. The rest should have had one shot.
But, De Jonge also said that The Netherlands is dependent on the supplies of pharmaceuticals. If deliveries turn out differently than expected, more time is needed to vaccinate everyone.
