50PLUS: “Not everyone can afford face masks”
The political party 50PLUS (which represents older people’s interests) in Assen would like to see the municipality of Assen give people who have to make ends meet on a minimum income free face masks. As reported by the Asser Courant.
The party points out that the Dutch cabinet is asking the population to wear a face mask in public places. “The impact of this measure is huge. To have a positive effect, everyone should participate”, they say.
But that also has financial consequences for many people. 50PLUS: “Not everyone is able to respond to the call to wear a face mask.” That is why the party is asking the Commission to give those in Assen that are struggling financially free mouth masks. “Think of, for example, the users of the food bank”, they say.
