Whether the police were tipped off by neigh-bours is unknown
The police have raided a warehouse in the hamlet of Nijeveense Bovenboer (near Meppel). The 120-resident village’s peace and quiet was shattered by multiple police vans, and a helicopter. According to the National Police Unit, the raid was drug-related.
A spokesperson confirmed to RTV Drenthe that the giant raid concerned ‘an investigation into narcotics’.
Several people were also arrested, with police mounting a surprise raid having anticipated resistance from those inside. A local resident told RTV Drenthe that there were several police cars and vans at the premises, which is a business dealing in horses. Another witness said he saw a police helicopter flying, likely to check for anyone leaving covertly.
