Drents hairdresser begins work at 00:01 in the morning after being allowed to open again

Alex Eding was fully booked until 04:00

Many people are extremely relieved that they can go to the hairdresser again from today, with almost every hairdresser in Drenthe fully booked for several days, some chose to open in the middle of the night, one minute after midnight, reports RTV Drenthe.

Hairdresser Alex Eding, from Borger (Gemeente Borger-Odoorn), had his first clients in his salon at one minute after twelve this morning: “on the day that we can open again, I immediately start at night. I already have customers who want to come then,” said Eding.

When he heard last week that his hair salon was allowed to open again under certain conditions, he didn’t even think twice about opening as soon as possible. Finding customers for the night time was no problem either; Alex booked his diary for four hours.

Everyone in the salon must be more than one and a half meters apart and all must wear a face mask, which Eding is providing in the salon.

Eding isn’t planning on becoming a 24 hour hairdresser, he says: “this is a one-off playful promotion and after this I am going to stay in line with the supermarkets for a while.”
