Doctors Fickweiler and Kiers will see patients digitally, and are available 24/7
Two Drents doctors, GP’s Freek Fickweiler and Jan Pieter Kiers are moving online, with digital appointments available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients then determine the time themselves, and always get to speak to one of the doctors . There are no medical assistants and there are no waiting times, reports RTV Drenthe.
This new ‘flex doctor’ phenomenon seems to be the best approach for people with a busy life, and certainly during the current Coronavirus outbreak, with patients tending to prefer avoiding the waiting room. “You notice that people are less likely to come to the practice with complaints in Corona time, for fear of infection,” says Fickweiler.
The flexdoctor has all kinds of advantages according to the duo that will start working in Kloosterveen via the new method on 1 March. Patients can choose their preferred time to speak to the doctor via chat, video calling or telephone. And if necessary, a physical visit can still be scheduled.
