The award for the business of the year in the province of Drenthe has been given to Avitec

As we reported in November, the ‘Drentse Onderneming van het Jaar 2019’ competition had been narrowed down to three finalists.
In a ceremony held at the Theater De Tamboer in Hoogeveen, Avitec from Nieuw-Buinen were given the prize. They have a huge number of projects in the Province, including the Altingerhof in Beilen, and the refurbishment of the Willinkplein in Emmen.
The construction, design, and advice bureau has also worked in the past on roads around the VAM-berg off-road cycling track, and on changing the layout of the Raadhuisplein in Emmen. To boot, all work Avitec takes on is fully circular.
At the moment, Avitec is working on a solar array in Borger-Odoorn (Drenthe) that will cover hundreds of hectares.
The other two finalists were Graaco in Coevoorden, and the light and sound technicians SEM Productions from Meppel. Last year the winner was the VEPA furniture design factory in Hoogeveen.
