The goal of the tour is to bump up the numbers of Chinese tourists visiting the northern province each year. The Chinese delegation will be visiting the area from 25 May to 1 June. The visitors will see the Camp Westerbork Memorial, the Hunebed Centre, Maallust Brewery, the Van Gogh house in Veenoord and the TT Circuit in Assen. A cycling tour through Orvelte is also on the agenda.
Alderperson Henk Brink wants to show off all that Drenthe has to offer. Many Chinese tourists make a beeline for Giethoorn upon arriving in the Netherlands, and Brink thinks that it should be relatively easy to entice tourists to swing by Drenthe, too. According to the province, a relatively diverse group of attractions will be visited along the way in order to determine which are the most popular for future Chinese visitors.
