Despite being landlocked, Drenthe has a number of extraordinarily beautiful lakes
The beaches of the Gasselterveld and ‘t Nije Hemelriek lakes in the province of Drenthe were busy last weekend, yet everyone adhered to social distancing measures, reports the Asser Courant.
Police in the Aa and Hunze area, along with forester Martijn Harms had called on people via social media to avoid the recreation area near Gasselte and to choose another swimming spot- and visitors complied, meaning that social distancing was upheld across the Province.
Where else can you swim in Drenthe?
In addition to the recreational pools of the recreational lakes of Gasselterveld and ‘t Nije Hemelriek, you can also swim at the Blue Lake between Smilde and Dwingeloo, the Baggelhuizerplas in Assen, De Kibbelkoele at Noord-Sleen, Schoonhoven between Elim and Hollandscheveld and the Grote Rietplas near Emmen.
