Documentary makers from all over the world will come to Leeuwarden in October to participate in the international documentary festival Eurodoc. The festival is an opportunity for twelve young Frisian filmmakers to network and participate in workshops.

Representatives of Netflix and HBO, among others, are also coming to the Frisian capital to get to know the film-makers and Friesland itself.
The fact that Eurodoc is coming to Leeuwarden is thanks to the film platform New Noardic Wave. The platform wants to put Friesland more on the map as a place for filming and documentaries.
A global audience
“We see Friesland, and the North, as a fantastic place for filmmakers”, says Joris Hoebe of New Noardic Wave. “We just want to show that to the world. Bringing such a prestigious program here contributes to our mission.”
In addition to the international filmmakers, twelve local producers will also participate. “With that, the quality and your network can also grow. And therefore also the opportunity to get your Frisian film to a broadcaster that works nationally or internationally.”
