Dirk Mulder, who recently retired as director of the Westerbork Camp Remembrance Center in Drenthe, received the Honour of Merit for the Republic of Austria yesterday.

Dirk Mulder was given the decorations by the Austrian ambassador to the Netherlands Heidemaria Gürer. The broadcaster reports for the province of Drenthe, RTV Drenthe.
Mulder, former director of Camp Westerbork Memorial Center, received the medal of honour for his contribution to remembering the past and his role as a bridge builder in the processing of the common history.
The Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um die Republik Österreich can be compared to the Dutch knighthood.
