Digital ESNS festival reaches people from ‘124 countries’

Digital festival exceeds expectations

Eurosonic Noorderslag, which was held in Groningen for its 35th edition last week, had to be turned into an online festival this year, but new digital developments ensured that there were now many more opportunities for people from the music industry to network, reports the GIC.

“The online edition of ESNS has exceeded all expectations; both the festival and conference platform has been visited en masse worldwide by music lovers and professionals from 124 different countries”, the organisation says

Despite the fact that the acts, audience and music professionals could not meet each other live in Groningen, they still managed to get as close as possible to the festival experience with daily live streams and professionals were able to network and meet each other in a virtual environment.

With this, the online variant brought many new possibilities for networking and there was a much greater reach for the artists via the online channels of ESNS and the many media partners than with the live edition. With this, the mission of ESNS was more than guaranteed; promoting and circulating new Dutch and European music, according to the organization.
