The Amsterdam-based brewery De Prael is planning to open a new location in Groningen.
RTV Noord reports that the brewery will set up shop nearby Simplon on the Boterdiep. De Prael founder Arno Kooy says that in addition to a brewery, the Groningen location will also have a tasting room for customers to try the beer before buying it.
One unique feature of the Groningen location is that it will employ people with various types of disabilities who may struggle to find work otherwise.
De Smaak van Stad, a culinary guide to Groningen, writes that Kooy says that business is going so well for the brewery, which has been in operation for 13 years, that he has decided to start franchising it.
The Hague will also be getting a local branch of the brewery. Both locations are expected to open later this year.
