A 29-year-old woman died as a result of her injuries after she was struck by a lorry while biking at the roundabout on the Van Iddekingeweg and the Vondellaan in the city of Groningen.

Dagblad van het Noorden reports that the woman has died after being critically injured. The Groningen police shared on Twitter earlier on Thursday that the cyclist was a woman and that she had been transported to a nearby hospital. The police are investigating the collision.

The roundabout has been closed to traffic in connection to the incident. On Wednesday, plans were announced to build separated cycling paths on the Van Iddekingeweg.
