A roe deer crossing the A32 between Meppel and Steenwijk caused a serious accident on Wednesday night.
RTV Drenthe reports that a car struck a roe deer and was subsequently struck by several other vehicles. The deer was killed in the collision.
The police say that there were six vehicles involved in the pile-up. One person suffered serious injuries in the collision. One vehicle occupant was thrown onto the bonnet of their car and another occupant was trapped inside their vehicle.
