Make it in the North, Campus Groningen, and the Gemeente Groningen are bringing together companies and organisations with digital-related jobs for English-speaking job-seekers

Make it in the North will be holding its sixth career event on February 18, 2021 from 14:00 to 17:00. The main theme of the career event is ‘digital,’ but that does not mean only software and apps. From graphic design, and cybersecurity, to artificial intelligence; virtual reality, and social media, Meet Your Future in the Digital World aims to provide numerous opportunities to get a job in the Northern digital ecosystem.
The event initiators Make it in the North, Campus Groningen and the municipality of Groningen are organising this event to actively facilitate connections between companies and job seekers in the digital realm of the Northern Netherlands. The focus is put on English-speaking job-seekers, as Dutch companies can unlock a whole new world of opportunity if they employ an International.
What’s digital?
‘Digital’ does not mean only software and apps, but Includes all jobs and companies that have something to do with working digitally. That includes design (UX, UI, graphic design), e-commerce, cybersecurity; online marketing, artificial intelligence, social media; content management, (serious) gaming, virtual reality; augmented reality, copy-writing for online purposes, blockchain tech and so on etc. So much is happening in the digital world of Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe, and the nature of the digital world is that it is cross-border by default.
Businesses are strongly encouraged to ‘claim their spot’ at the event, from which they can connect to talent, present their business, and make new connections.
At the event, those looking for a job can plan meetings with as many companies of their interest as they want and see if there is a match. You can also speed date with companies; and get in touch with them through video call and chat.
There will be inspiring webinars and round table conversations about the latest projects and developments here in the North, and you can get to know what it’s like working at the various digital-related companies and jobs offered in Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe.
At the event, there will be jobs on different educational levels, different required work experience (intern, starter, experienced) and for different languages (Dutch, English). The event will be entirely in English.
