Fewer patients are in Hospital due to the illness, and cases seem to be falling as well
In the Northern Netherlands as a whole, 153 Coronavirus patients were admitted to a hospital on Friday afternoon, with 56 of them in an IC unit, reports OOGTV. According to the Dutch government’s Coronavirus dashboard, cases in Groningen, Friesland, and Drenthe are all significantly down on the most recent mid-October peak.
Last week, there were a total of 184 hospital admissions of corona patients in the North, 59 of them in an ICU. Of the 153 people who are now admitted to a hospital in the Northern Netherlands, 92 come from outside the region. 36 people from this group of patients are in a northern ICU.
The number of corona patients admitted to Groningen hospitals decreased slightly compared to a week ago, according to figures from the Acute Care Network Northern Netherlands.
On Friday morning, 69 people were admitted to Groningen with Coronavirus symptoms. A week ago there were 74 hospital admissions. The number of admissions to intensive care units remained the same, with 27 admissions in total. Compared to last Wednesday, a slight increase was seen in the nursing wards (2). In the ICUs, the number of admissions declined (2).
