Week-on-week infections have risen
A slight increase in the number of infections seen last week in the city and province of Groningen has continued over the past seven days, reports the GGD Groningen, via OOGTV. Since last Wednesday, 1,075 confirmed new infections have been added in the province of Groningen, a small increase on the previous week’s total of 1,020 infections.
In the past week, on average, we had an infection rate of 184 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and 77 hospital admissions per 1,000,000 inhabitants on a weekly basis. The grading level therefore remains at the level “very serious”, of level 4 out of 4 on the Dutch government’s scale.
However, Groningen’s infection rates are below the national average of 261 per 100,000 inhabitants. Since the start of the Coronavirus crisis in March last year, 28,163 people in our province have tested positive for the virus so far.
