The Coronavirus continues to decline in Groningen: last week, 344 new infections were recorded in the province; a month ago there were 1044 positive tests in that week.
In Groningen there are currently 59 people per 100,000 people infected, which is far below the national average of 89 per 100,000 inhabitants. The situation is still ‘worrying’, rather than ‘very serious’, as it has been since October last year, reports the GIC.
According to the GGD, almost 35 percent of Groningen residents have received a first shot and almost 18 percent have now been fully vaccinated. The turnout for at least one Coronavirus vaccination among people over 65 is above 85 percent in all municipalities in the province of Groningen.
Up to and including week 21, a total of 271,641 shots were given by GGD Groningen. These are both first and second innoculations.
