A porta potty with a sleeping Frisian man inside it was loaded onto a truck after King’s Day. The cleaning company has now apologised to him for the incident.

The young man fell asleep inside a porta potty on King’s Day and was trapped for several hours after the porta potty was loaded onto a truck. The unit he was in was enclosed by other porta potties, and he could not get out. He called the police early on Saturday morning for help.

RTV Noord reports that on Tuesday, Robbert Kuil, an employee at Peter Kuil Cleaning Service, presented the Frisian man with a bouquet of flowers, cleaning supplies and an alarm clock. Kuil says that the company wanted to extend a small gesture to the young man who has been overwhelmed by media attention following the incident.

The owner of the cleaning company says he is curious to hear when the man entered the toilet: the porta potties were collected on the Grote Markt in Groningen and checked to make sure they were empty, and then shortly thereafter loaded into trucks.
