The partnership currently includes international tech companies such as Philips, Neopost, BD Kiestra and Stork Turbo Blading. Comecer, an Italian company, acquired Veenstra Instruments in 2012 and the company has 45 employees in Joure. Comecer produces medical devices and software for (radio) pharmacy and employs 320 people worldwide.
The Innovation Cluster ultimately plans to grow to a partnership of 25 companies. Criteria for a business to officially join the cluster is fairly strict: companies have to be part of the manufacturing industry, be willing to share knowledge and represent an addition to the cluster.
