It is hoped that the ringing will bring ‘hope and comfort’
Church bells throughout the Netherlands will be sounded for another fifteen minutes this evening, between 19:00 and 19:15 for the second time. The original bell ringing was inspired by a call from the Council of Churches to give “a message of hope and comfort” to everyone involved with the Coronavirus last Wednesday.
Tonight the bells will be sounded again for this purpose.
“With these churches can connect people across the boundaries of social isolation,” the organisation told the Asser Courant today.
