The Groninger Museum’s latest exhibition featuring works by American glass artist Dale Chihuly will open to the public on the 8th of December. A sneak preview of the exhibit is already on display outside the museum in the open air.
Starting on Saturday, 8 December, the Groninger Museum will present a body of work created throughout American glass artist Dale Chihuly’s five-decade career, including pieces built for both indoor and outdoor settings. The exhibition is the artist’s largest in a European museum in the last 20 years.
Chihuly (1941) is world famous for his sensational combinations of glass and colours. Highlights of the multimedia exhibition include the artist’s most recent works, “Rotolo” and “Glass on Glass”, along with his innovative “Baskets” and the dramatic installations “Neon”, “Fiori” and “Icicles”, and demonstrations of creative communication-style.
