The Campus Trail is a unique four-mile course that takes runners through sports facilities, businesses, teaching facilities and labs. The 6.5 kilometre route starts and finishes at the Willem Alexander Sport Centre.
Registrations are now open at the Campus Groningen website. Students are eligible for a five euro discount if they include their student ID number, and participants can register as a (business) team to start at the same time.
Kris Tuinier, dean of the Institute for Sport Studies at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, says that the running event serves multiple important functions. “It’s in honour of the 100thanniversary of the Institute for Sport Studies, and it’s a unique athletic event that lets participants experience all of the things that the Zernike Campus has to offer and raises awareness for a healthy Campus
The Campus Trail is part of a series of events and activities to encourage athletic activity and getting people moving at Campus Groningen, including a new 4 Mile race at the Healthy Ageing Campus, which is part of Campus Groningen, in July, and more green park zones and outdoor fitness equipment.
The Campus Trail is an initiative of Campus Groningen, the Institute for Sport Studies at the Hanze, ACLO sports facilities, Lode Holding and business association WEST.
