Campus Groningen is already the second largest campus in the Netherlands, and this position will be further strengthened in the coming years, with new plans to invest 500 million euros in Campus Groningen.
The Campus Groningen consists of the Zernike Campus in the north of the city near Paddepoel, and the Healthy Aging Campus in the area around the UMCG.
The Dagblad van het Noorden reports that Campus Groningen will present a plan for the investment fund of 500 million euros on Tuesday.
That fund has been set up to remain one of the largest campuses and to be able to grow.
According to the article, half of the 500 million would go to investments in infrastructure and real estate. The other half would be intended for research facilities, among other things.
A press conference has been announced for Tuesday.
